Paarl

Club 21 is built on a strong Christian foundation and the school does not discriminate unfairly when admitting learners to the school. Families can expect their children to be educated in a Christian environment, but families and their children will not be discriminated against based on religion, or any other grounds, including race, gender, marital status, ethnic or social origin, colour, sexual orientation, age, disability, conscience, belief, culture, language and birth.

Our specialized curriculum is adapted and differentiated and focuses on integrating the Academic (Languages, Mathematics, Themes), Physical (e.g. Gross motor), Emotional, Social and Life skills (e.g. Catering and Robotics) development of children with Down syndrome from 2 to 18 years old.

Club 21 Paarl opened its doors in 2024, after a need for such a centre was identified in the area.  It is functioning as a satellite campus of Club 21 Pretoria, with regular contact between the two campuses on various levels.

The school is situated on the grounds of the Dutch Reformed Church, Agter-Paarl.

The languages of instruction currently offered are English and Afrikaans.

Club 21 Paarl offers:

  • A structured and fixed routine in which children with Down syndrome can reach their full potential.

  • Small groups with a maximum of eight learners with qualified teachers and assistants.

  • An academic curriculum based on concepts of CAPS (the National Curriculum Assessment Policy Statements) and D-CAPS (the Differentiated National Curriculum Assessment Policy Statements) curriculums, with a Christ-centred foundation.

  • Comprehensive assessments by Speech- and Occupational therapists to determine the independent level of functioning of each learner with Down syndrome.

  • The services of a multi-disciplinary team of therapists, offering individual therapy to ensure and monitor the optimal development of learners. Therapies not included in school fees.
